Be Water

Bruce Lee the famous movie star and creator of Jeet Kune Do has many famous quotes but this one always stands above the rest. In martial arts, it is extremely important to be able to adapt to any situation. this quote is much more than that though. He is telling people to "Go with the flow". this idea is the founding idea of Taoism a Chinese philosophy consisting of "going with the flow". Water does have other properties though. one being; when put under force it will almost harden due to the force and the surface tension. I think this is missed in Taoism because if someone came to my house to hurt me or my family or if I was failing classes I definitely would not go with the flow. Be like water when something "soft" comes around go with it but when Life slaps you be "hard" and work threw it.
